Notes
Playlist based on a 2009 live recording by PL-7764 and compiled by wedroy1923. There appears to be some disagreement about how long this loop as represented above has been used at the Main Street Cinema. Some report that at one time the vocal track introductions were also included.
As per DL Flight 295 on Magic Music (Post no. 12735, 02/12/2005):
The Main Street Cinema originaly showed old non-Disney silent films. Between music numbers, a "projection booth operator" would call out various things, like "The managment of the house kindly asks ..." of "ladies please remove you hats so that everyone may enjoy ..." In the early 80's when the attraction format (done for Tokyo Disneyland first) was changed to early Mickey Mouse cartoons, only the music remained. Today, Disneyland is the only park with a fully operating Main Street Cinema, as the others have been taken up by retail space.
As per DL Flight 295 on Magic Music (Post no. 30547, 06/26/2009):
Disneyland and Walt Disney World used the same tracks. The vocals were edited out when the Main Street Cinema switched to all Mickey Mouse shorts in 1983. Before that, Steamboat Willie was the only Disney film shown in the American Main Street Cinemas. This change occurred for Tokyo Disneyland, as their Cinema always featured 6 early MM films. I am not sure in TDL used the same music .
On a side note: The Main Street Cinema music and Market House phones in the 70's and 90's were on the same audio carte tape.
